Not essential: Gallbladder is useful but not essential to live. There are digestive issues without it.

Not true: Most people never have problems after gallbladder removal. Any post laparoscopic surgery pain resolves after a few days. A minority of patients have colicky pain for a few weeks after gallbladder removal, but even this pain also resolves after a few weeks when the body adjusts. Gallbladder is not really a useless organ, but it is a vestigial organ, much like the appendix.

Why would a gallbladder need to be removed?

Usually stones.: The gallbladder is most commonly removed because of gallstones, but it may also be removed if the gallbladder is inflamed or infected. Gallbladder removal will relieve pain, treat infection and - in most cases - stop gallstones from coming back. The risks of not having surgery are the possibilities of worsening symptoms, infection and gangrene of the gallbladder.

Consult your doctor: Nine millimeter gallbladder wall appears unusally thick. Pathology examination may be needed to determine the nature of your gallbladder condition.

Depends on SX!: Having gotten a hida scan of the gall bladder. But I am not a "numbers" person. If symptoms suggest gb disease, i would favor removal.

My gallbladder is workin at 29% if it has to be removed is it better to remove it or just keep it to at least have it?

Think twice: If it has no stones, then i'd not rush to have it removed, as there is no guarantee you will feel better after its removal. Some actually feel worse. There are some that improve, but that depends on your symptoms. I find that diet (staying away from greasy, fried foods) can control lots of symptoms.
