The is reasonable: Hi. A HIDA scan is a study to determine how you gallbladder is functioning (how it fills and empties). An abnormal HIDA scan can indicate that it is not filling or emptying properly. If you are indeed having symptoms that suggest gallbladder dysfunction such as right upper abdominal pain, bloating, nausa, etc, especially after eating, then it would be reasonable to have your gallbladder removed

HIDA scan to r/o gb: CT and ultrasound are not evaluating function of gall bladder. HIDA nuclear medicine study more specific for functional disturbance and dyskinesia of gall bladder. Low ejection fraction after cck intravenous injection is very suggestive of gall bladder problem particularly if symptoms are compatible with biliary colic or pain.
