This is not uncommon: During septoplasty procedure, the nerves that supply your nasal tip and bottom of nose are the same as the nerves that travel through the septum. It is not uncommon for you to be experiencing discomfort in these areas following surgery. This symptom should fully resolve within the next 6 months.

Edema.: Most likely edema from your surgery. Please followup with your surgeon to evaluate other treatable causes. In addition, try elevating the head of your bed or sleeping on several pillows.
