A 38-year-old female asked:

I had a septoplasty with turbinate reduction three weeks ago. my septum is still visibly running diagonal and bulging on one side leaving one nostril all but closed. will this improve, or did the painful operation likely fail?

Ask your Dr who did your surgery. They will know what to expect based on exactly what they have done in folks like you where you live.

Hello. I agree that you will need to see your surgeon first to see if your nose is healing as expected. Was your nose blocked like this before surgery? If your Doc fixed your septum behind a blockage in front of your nose then this may not change. Also there could be a fluid collection, infection or abnormal scar formation. A second option may be needed. Ask for your OP note and pre-op films.
