Chronic irritation: Chronic irritation like acid reflux or a hiatal hernia can cause esophageal thickening. In very rare cases, esophageal cancer can start as esophageal thickening.

Can be: Can be reflux associated or gastritis ; if biopsy negative , then likely nothing to worry about ; thickening is inflammation from irritation ; can try anti-acids meds to help symptoms if you are having them.

Reflux esophagitis: Most commonly this would be due to inflammation from reflux esophagitis. Biopsies were done to help determine severity. Should be fine. Just await biopsy results.
