A member asked:

Do stomach ulcers cause high lactoferrin in stool?had normal colonoscopy. endoscopy showed stomach ulcers.ct scan & ultrasound were both normal.bloodwork was all normal. lipase was normal. biopsies negative for h pylori, celiac and malignancy?

A doctor has provided 1 answer

Lactoferrins are high in bowel infections/ inflammation. From the test results you show there is no indication. Choices are to repeat the test and if still high re-consult your GI doc. good luck
