Combo: The most effective treatment for panic attacks (usually triggered by the anticipation of an attack) is a combination of behavioral therapy plus medication. The behavioral approach may be tried by itself first and the medication added--but the details of the best approach for you can only be determined by a careful evaluation. Ask your md for a referral to a psychiatrist.
