General Surgeon: Make an appointment with a general surgeon, and they can discuss surgery. It is a very common surgery, and if the hernia is pretty small, then you'll probably go home from the hospital the same day.

Hi there, Over the last 5 months I've lost around 30 lbs of weight. As my body is slimmer, I noticed a small lump in my groin area about 4/5 inches below belly button. I'm not sure if it was there and I did not notice because of the extra fat. Either way, did some research and have narrowed down symptom to inguinal hernia. Scheduled appointment with personal care doctor but it is not until September. Should I see an urgent care sooner? inguinal hernia, how urgent to see doctor?
