Hi there, over the last 5 months i've lost around 30 lbs of weight. as my body is slimmer, i noticed a small lump in my groin area about 4/5 inches below belly button. i'm not sure if it was there and i did not notice because of the extra fat. either way, did some research and have narrowed down symptom to inguinal hernia. scheduled appointment with personal care doctor but it is not until september. should i see an urgent care sooner? inguinal hernia, how urgent to see doctor?

Hernia?: If it does not hurt gather no urgency. If you have lost weight without trying I would wonder if it is an enlarged lymp node? Check both inguinal areas. If on both sides not likely a hernia.

Not urgent: Unless symptoms worsening or significant growth noted. Alternate diagnoses remain possible.

Weight loss: If the weight loss was unintended, it is urgent and you should see a doctor sooner. If it was on purpose, you may wait to September, unless you notice lumps elsewhere in the body, get fever or keep losing weight without trying.
