Visit a Doctor: When you are experiencing symptoms like the ones you are describing, the best recommendation is to visit an ophthalmologist they will conduct a dilated exam to see what is causing those flashing lights.

Not connected: Red eyes can be caused by many issues: dryness (use tears), allergy (tears and over the counter allergy drops), infection (see an eye doctor). Pain in the eye can be related to any of the issues above but if persistent needs to be evaluated by an ophthalmologist. Flashing lights can be a sign of a retinal tear and needs to be seen by an eye doc asap.
