Kids 1/8 mile away shining bright red laser. looked at red lantern size light, but when it became a laser pointer did not look into it. no flash blindness, loss of vision, etc. was wearing contacts. our area is dark. could this cause damage to eye?

Probably not: While it is true that some lasers can cause eye damage, your description of events makes this unlikely. You don’t mention any vision changes or eye problems since the incident, so it appears there aren’t any. If you remain concerned, see your opthalmologist for an eye eval.
