DDS?: Thanks for asking. If your dentist cannot manage it or suggest a treatment, perhaps a referral to an oral surgeon is in order.

Pediatric dentist: 5 year olds are just about ready to lose the front teeth. Certainly trauma or bumping it could be the cause of this bump. Warts would be unlikely but a pediatric dentist will be well equipped to see this and follow along. If anything more is required they can advise.

See a dentist: It could be a sign of infection in the tooth or a lesion associated with the eruption of permanent teeth. Either way your dentist should be able to identify what type of lesion it is and what needs to be done if anything.
