Needs attention now: A swollen knee needs attention immediately. It could be infected. This need immediate treatment as it could be cured with an antibiotic program. It could be bleeding inside the knee. If so we need to know why it is bleeding. It could be arthritis. Looking at the joint fluid can help us make the correct diagnosis. You need to see your doctor and be referred to a rheumatologist now.

Get it checked.: You should see an orthopedic knee specialist. The swelling could indicate an internal problem within the knee joint.
