A member asked:

Good evening doctor my name preethi i have undergone hysterectomy through laproscopy doctor advised me to take livogen for 1 years please explain why?

A doctor has provided 1 answer

Hi Preethi: I suppose you had anemia with your heavy bleeding before the hysterectomy. I think the medicine u describe is iron and folic acid. If so, stopping the bleeding by having surgery is very important to get better from anemia. A year seems a bit long to replace your iron stores though. It will likely only require about a month or so, depending on diet. Ask though, the doc may have a reason, gdluc.
