Depends on…: How many packs a day you smoke, whether they're filtered/unfiltered, how deeply you inhale, whether u smoke every day, what other smoke exposure u have. Cigarette smoke almost immediately paralyzes the tiny hair cells lining respiratory tract that sweep mucus, etc out of lungs. Smoking inflames lung tubes & air sacs. Stopping now is best thing u can do for yourself b4 u have emphysema/chronic bron.
