Yes: The effects of irritants on the airways of young children are similar if the smoke is from cigarettes, fireplaces, weed, cloves, etc. Increase in rates of crib death, respiratory illness, ear infections & the like are well documented.

Yes: Actually, even worse problems. There are over 300 times asmany carcinogens in the second-hand smoke from marijauna as there are from tobacco. Marijuana is psychoactive, it affects the brain's functions, specifically judgment, sense of time, response time, ability to think clearly, rationally.

Yes: In addition to problems with smoke itself, it exposes the child to a stupefied, incapacitated parent.

Yes: Why would you smoke pot around kids? That's not a good parenting choice. There are no published studies assessing second hand marijuana smoke ingestion by children. But any parent that does drugs around their kids has a problem with appropriateness and judgment. It sends a not so tacit message that drug use is ok.

Yes: I agree with everything dr snead said. But why are you using drugs in front of your children? It's bad enough you use drugs, but modeling this behavior for them to mimic will encourage their subsequent drug use. Please think about your parental responsibilities, and put this adolescent drug behavior behind you. If you can't, please seek drug/alcohol rehab help. Do it for your kids!
