Will copd kill you after awhile?

Possibly: COPD can lead to progressive failure of the heart, called cor pulmonale, where the right ventricle, the chamber that pumps blood to the lungs to get oxygen into the red blood cells, becomes enlarged and weak. Also, COPD makes a person more susceptible to pneumonia and bronchitis infections.

Maybe: The leading cause of death in patients with COPD is actually heart disease and not the COPD itself.
