What should i do if diagnosed with copd

COPD diagnosis: If you smoke, stop smoking! see a qualified physician who can evaluate you and inform you about the severity. There is a clear treatment and maintenance algorithm for COPD that can extend duration and quality of life and reduce illness days and hospitalizations. Start with an excellent family physician who may elect to refer to a pulmonologist (lung specialist).

Stop smoking!!: If you have been diagnosed with COPD and you still smoke, smoking cessation is critical to slow disease progression. Follow your doctor's advice and adhere to your treatment plan in order to slow disease progression and decrease symptoms as much as possible. There is no cure but symptoms can be controlled with treatment!
