COPD IS CHRONIC: COPD does not resolve. It can and does decompensate with acute bronchitis, bronchospasm, heavy mucus, wheezing, shortness of breath, and pneumonia, and these resolve with proper treatments. But the chronic emphysema changes and the chronic bronchial changes do not disappear. Some aspects can improve, but scarring and narrowing of bronchi and bullae do not improve.

No: COPD is a progressive condition that can be stabilized with the proper treatment and removal of the causative agent (like smoking). There are other causes like environmental pollution and working conditions where fine dust/powder is constantly inhaled. However, tobacco smoking is still the 1 cause. stopping can cause your COPD to stabilize or progress at slower rate Good Luck
