Could be: Pericoronitis, by definition, is an inflammation (itis) occur in the tissue surrounding (peri) the crown (corona). Amoxicillin simply provided the relief but not removing the underlying causes. It should relieve pain and inflammation after 24 hours to allow for more therapeutic approach addressing the underlying cause of pericoronitis.
