Can hashimoto's hypothyroidism really be controlled by meds? can the symptoms never occur if caught early?

Yes: The symptoms of hypothyroidism, whatever the cause, can be easily controlled by the proper dose of a brand name, not generic thyroxine (t4) replacement. Treatment is not necessary until lab tests become abnormal. The thyroiditis itself is not curable but certainly treatable.
