Hello, i was recently diagnosed with hypo & hashimotos and its sent me into early menopause with a 50 pound weight gain. i am trying to figure out how to combat all of this. i am taking 75mcg of synthroid hypothyroidism, hashimotos, and menopause?

Thyroid ?'s: Hypothyroidism from any cause including Hashimoto's thyroiditis can cause menstrual dysfunction. Your dose of Synthroid may need to be increased, so see your physician for another TSH level to determine if you are still hypothyroid. True menopause on average starts at about age 54, but menopause may arrive a little earlier.
