A member asked:

My 16 yr.old d has a small knot, painless under the skin on her cheek. when she smiles it looks like a dimple.no pit or opening obvious.any suggestion?

A doctor has provided 1 answer

Old scar site?: A small lump in the facial skin, that may dimple, may be an old scar from past trauma (children get hit with lots of things over the years, especially in sports, and from bumping into doors or furniture). A pediatrician, a dermatologist, or a plastic surgeon can look at it to offer a diagnosis.
