Not all carbs=gluten: Gluten is a protein found in wheat, so while foods that have gluten will have carbs, there are other carbs that are gluten free. For example, rice, potatoes, sugar, maple syrup, corn, bananas. These are all high in carbs of different types. Even sugar-free food can have a lot of carbs. Watch your overall carb intake. You don't have to avoid completely, just limit portions.

Carbs: Sugar free does not mean carbohydrate free. It only implies that sugar (for example: high fructose corn syrup, table sugar) isn't added. Sugar free foods still have plenty of carbs and often higher fat content. Sweeteners used are often sugar alcohols like maltitol or sorbitol (may cause diarrhea). Gluten is a wheat protein. Gluten free products have plenty of carbs in them, just not from wheat.
