Yes.: The reason they call it a rescue inhaler is to rescue maintenance asthma medication. In order to do that, you have to be on a maintenance medication: choices include flovent, asmanex, singulair, dulera, symbicort, (budesonide and formoterol) and others. You should only need your rescue inhaler twice a week or less. If you have to use it more, then you need to change or increase your maintenance asthma medication.
