Depends: If symptoms are infrequent / intermittent / and-or not severe, rescue inhaler may be all you need. There are long-acting beta-agonist inhalers (serevent (salmeterol) as an example), but they are associated with risk of death (...Usually from excessive use during an attack as if it was a short-acting med, and then getting toxic later). Steroid inhaler or med like singulair (/montelukast) may be better next med.
