Blood clots & Encare: Encare is a topical, spermicidal form of birth control. Because it doesn't contain female hormones, it should be safe for you. Just keep in mind that it won't protect against sexually transmitted diseases, and can have an approximately 20% failure rate over the course of a year if used alone. Therefore, it is best to use it and a condom at the same time.
