It is possible: to be in the mouth too. The HPV viruses (there are many strains) can be present in the mouth as well as genital areas or just in the mouth! There is a saliva test available to test for the presence of the most common and problematic HPV viruses in the oral cavity. It can also come and go in the mouth so it is possible to test positive at some time and then negative at another.
