Maybe yes, maybe no.: The full answer is complex and may require meeting with a sleep specialist. The short answer is that all drugs have adverse effects, some overt and other more subtle. Lunesta (eszopiclone) and its close cousins are effective for short term insomnia but have not been shown to be successful for long term management. There is also some evidence for dependence and odd overnight behaviors.
