Not a good idea...: You shouldn't take a prescription medicine that wasn't written for you to take by your doctor. Better to pay a visit to your pcp and investigate underlying cause for your symptoms. You can then discuss pros and cons of taking a rx sleep aid.

Insomnia: Insomnia can be frustrating. Medications are not a long term solution for insomnia. Nor should you take meds not prescribed to you. Good sleep hygiene is key. Try to avoid electronics, nicotine, alcohol, caffeine, ; bright lights prior to bedtime. Regularize your sleep ; wake up times. Understanding why you have it can be effective in treating it. A sleep doctor can help evaluate your insomnia.

Difficulty falling: Asleep is often associated w/anxiety while waking up early and not returning to sleep is associated w/depression. Periodic waking is associated w/overall light sleep. Please see you doc who may order a sleep study. A psychologist can help w/stress management. Peace and good health.
