Routines: Try to have routines throughout your baby's day- regular bedtimes, wakeup times and feeding times. When your baby shows signs of sleepiness, like rubbing the eyes or crankiness, put him/her down for a nap.

Be consistent : Set a consistent schedule. Arise, feed and go to bed at the same time. Develop a routine, following your child's lead. You will probably notice a time that he becomes drowsy or irritable. This may be his natural naptime, and can be coupled with a quiet, boring environment to encourage a nap. Discuss your child's sleep patterns with your doctor to get a specific plan of action.

Set routine: Napping is still routine in > 75% of children at 11 months. Want to set up good patterns so children know when nap time will occur and always try to put the child to bed awake after the routine so they can begin to self-soothe and put themselves to sleep.
