See a podiatrist: In order to find a remedy, you need to first determine why you are having pain. You need the ankles professionally examined, x-rayed and possibly an MRI done to evaluate for bone and/or cartilage injuries. Foot biomechanics or inflammatory conditions could also be to blame. A simple overuse issue should resolve itself. If they have hurt for over a year, get them checked.
