Most go home: Most cholecystectomy are laparoscopic and go home the same day or at least the next day with a quick one week recovery.

Depends on condition: It is likely that you will be released within 24 hours of an uncomplicated laparoscopic cholecystectomy. Any complications - while unlikely to occur - could delay your discharge. If your general health is poor, for example, if you have multiple underlying meadical problems - if you are very frail or if you are very obese, your stay may have to be longer.
