I have hiatal hernia and gerd, but only symptom is throat itch . no other pain in chest or stomach.is that really gerd? my hernia found tru gatroscopy.

Gerd: Yup sometimes a hoarse voice or cough can be the only symptom of gerd . Try meds to see if it resolves.

Maybe : You have an atypical symptom for gerd, which means it has a 60-70% chance at best of being related to gerd. A 48 hour ph study can help correlate acid reflux events to your symptom. This should be done off antacid mess for a week. A 24hour ph impedance study could be done on meds as well. Your GI doctor can help with these if its bad enough. Best of luck.
