Maybe: Gerd can cause many symptoms. Shortness of breath can occur if reflux enters the airway. This can be evaluated with a ph probe. Bloating symptoms may be related to diet, sodas, gastroparesis and other conditions. An evaluation by a GI doctor can help determine if you have laryngopharyngeal reflux.
