Not known: Conjugated linoleic acid (cla) supplements are not fda approved medications, so there probably isn't any good research to support sellers' claims of health benefits. It's even more unlikely for there to be any good research on its side effects. The safer way to lose weight is the natural way, without the variety of "supplements" sold in stores or on the internet.

Not likely helpful : Most studies in overweight or obese people have not showed very much if any weight loss and does not help in maintaining weight loss. Nice review of scientific studies on livestrong.Com. http://www.livestrong.com/article/431874-cla-weight-loss-studies/. Some undesirable side effects such as increasing Insulin resistance. http://www.livestrong.com/article/491291-side-effects-of-cla-weight-loss/.
