Maybe: Pregnancy tests like all tests can have false negatives, meaning you could be pregnant when it says you're not! some tests are more accurate so we usually repeat the test with a more accurate one. An ultrasound can give us a lot of information, not just about pregnancy. It may be the right test for your condition but if you have doubts, why don't you ask your doctor if there is an alternative?

Not necessarily: If you had a negative hpt (urine) it is still possible that you could have an ectopic pregnancy. If you had a negative blood pregnancy test, that is more reassuring, as the vast majority of ectopic pregnancies do result in a positive blood test. Nevertheless, if your doctor has any reason for concern, the blood test is not 100%, so don't hesitate to get the us.
