Lab data: Without a clinical history and exam, lab data seldom has significance. This may mean nothing at all. Discuss with the doctor who ordered the testing. Sometimes this simply means an "active" marrow or one which is being stimulated by some ongoing process, infection, other inflammation, etc, .

MPV is a measure: Of platelet size, so a quantitative and observational conclusion that plts are big. No clinical significance.

Not significant.: Mpv is mean platelet volume. Younger platelets tend to be larger than older ones, so sometimes it means increased platelet turnover, but unless the platelet count is low, a high mpv has no meaning. Some people just make larger platelets.
