A member asked:

Is an mri of the stomach as good as a cat scan of the stomach?

No: Actually neither MRI or ct of the stomach are particularly sensitive, but it depends on what the problem is. If you are having digestive problems, you need a upper GI series. If you are having severe pain or bleeding you may need an endoscopy. Consult with your physician to determine the proper course of action.

No: Typically a ct will be superior to MRI in evaluating bowel.
