Upper endoscopy: you will ultimately need esophagoduodenoscopy ( upper endoscopy)

Endoscopy: The MRI or CT scan will not allow physicians to see what the surface of the stomach looks like. Endoscopy is the only way that is performed. Also, during endoscopy, a biopsy may be obtained to determine (definitively) if there is any pathology (anything abnormal) in the stomach. Most likely, though, without symptoms, this finding (thickened stomach wall) is benign. Good luck, thanks for asking HT.
