Infection: While alcohol can cause flushing in some people, it will not cause fever. The fever is more likely from an infection. Aleve (naproxen) is effective at treating pain and inflammation. A better choice may be Acetaminophen (tylenol) or ibuprofen. It is not a good idea to drink alcoholic beverages and take nsaids at the same time as both can be lead to stomach irritation called gastritis.
