Tell them about it.: I would tell your parents your symptoms. Let them know how it is impacting you and ask them to take you to see your physician or a counselor for an assessment. Take care.

Directly: Explain your anxiety to them directly and calmly and ask for their help in seeking professional help. There is no shame in getting help.

What are they like?: Most parents want their children to do well, but you cannot force people to be reasonable or even decent. Some parents simply ridicule a child who's having difficulties -- in this case, get guidance from counselors, pastors, friends who are supportive (and remember many teens are cruel, like adults). Get a book on building social skills (Dale Carnegie is still great), and to be brave, act brave.
