What are the risk factor for cystoscopy?

Minimal?: There are always risks with any procedure(perforation, post procedure infection, post procedure cramping) but with a trained ob/gyn these should be kept to the barest minimal. Best to discuss this with your doctor so as to be well aware of what is going to occur; forewarned is forearmed.

Low: Cystoscopy has low risks - pain/discomfort, infection, and bleeding. The risk of bladder perforation should be almost zero unless a biopsy or tumor resection needs to be performed. These procedures should only be performed by a trained urologist.
