Nothing, maybe.: Lymphatics are the second circulatory system in the body. They return excess fluid to the heart and they have nodes that fight infections. The tissue at the base of the tongue being prominent may just be normal anatomy for you personally or a sign of significant infectious challenge to that tissue. Your doctor who sent you for the MRI should be able to tell you whether to worry or not.

Not much: It means that you have lymphoid at the base of your tongue as long as your physician is not concerned you should not be either.
