Is it always necessary to carry out a biopsy on lymphoid hyperplasia or is endoscopic examination and mri enough to decide that it is benign?

Lymph node BX: we need the biopsy to tell the nature of the lymph node. particularly if it is more than 1 cm in diameter.less than 1cm is usually benign.CT/PET could be used to detect the hypermetabolic activities of the lymphnode (significannt) or no hypermetabolic ( beign) If the lymph node is diffucult to reach and 1cm or less CT/PET in proper clinic setting may be enough.and no need for BX

Biopsy is the best w: The best way to check on lymphoid hyperplasia is by means of a biopsy and microscopic examination followed by specialized tests on the biopsy material(if necessary). X-rays or endoscopy will not show this abnormality.
