Toe Surgery: You should wear the surgical shoe, supportive shoe, etc, that your doctor gave you. Keep the activity to a minimum for the first 2-3 days to keep your toe pain free. Try to elevate above your heart if you feel swelling, call & confirm your post-op directions with your doctor. Hope this helps! dr george tsatsos anklenfootcenters.Com.

Do not bend it.: You can usually walk on it with a rigid surgical shoe. Do try to rest and elevate it as much as possible to minimize the pain and swelling. Consult with your surgeon and get their advice.
