Aging: You are likely getting some age related inflammation in the joint. It could be early arthritis, mild tendinitis, cartilage degeneration, or a bone cyst. As always, if the discomfort persists or worsens, seek care. Your physician may order a simple x-ray to help determine the cause of your symptoms.

Knee pain: Depending on the location of your pain & evaluation by your doc proper diagnosis can be made. At 37 and lack of an acute injury points to the following possible common problems: 1) front pain with stairs or squatiing: early patello-femoral arthritis , 2) pain on either sides: tendonitis or meniscus tears , 3) back of the knee: bakers cyst, 4) pain all over: arthritis/inflammation.
