A doctor has provided 1 answer

Orthopedic surgeon: Internal knee derangement, such as cartilage damage, must be checked for. If the discomfort is in front of the leg below the kneecap, tendonitis or more likely, chondromalacia, which is damage from running and overuse, are a possibilities. I recommend evaluation by an orthopedic specialist. An MRI will probably be recommended. Treatment options will depend upon the findings of your evaluation.
