Not unusual: Every woman has her cervix in a unique position for her. This is a variation of normal and not a problem as long as it is not caused by a problem with the uterus such as fibroids. The pap collection device can cause some spotting when it samples the inside of the cervix or canal as well as some cramping. These symptoms are common with a pap smear.
