Follow up with MD: Hi katie. Spotting is certainly a reason to get checked, and having a pap was the right thing to do. A cervix can be inflamed for a variety of reasons, cancer among them. My recommendation is to follow up with your doctor and specifically the results of the pap. Even if the pap is negative, though, you will want to see your doctor to explore other reasons for the inflammation.
